Wedding Day Wisdom
The #1 tip we have for your wedding day is this.
Enjoy the journey!
Regardless of your age, previous marital status, how much you may or may not spend, where you honeymoon. "If" you honeymoon. What traditions you include, what venue, cake(s), special songs, etc....
This is a time of Celebration!
It's YOUR day so choose what matters and leave the rest behind.

To Our Dashing Grooms
We've all heard the saying, "He just needs to show up," but is that really true? Grooms, you are special. Your future wife chose you to spend the rest of her life with, above all other men. Other than saying to be well-rested and not hungover, what sage advice can we share?
You probably have a month or less by the time you see this. Check your tux rental, contact vendors, make sure your groomsmen know the role they play in your wedding. Do not give the ring to a child! Make sure the playlist and alcohol are covered. Get your haircut close to your wedding day and don't forget to shave. (Oh yes! It has happened!) Do you have your ring? Unless your ring is a surprise for you, we recommend you make certain it fits. We've had Brides who couldn't get the ring on her Groom during the Ceremony! (Men do not usually wear their ring like the Bride does ahead of time.) We also recommend, regardless of your involvement in the wedding planning thus far, you ask your future Bride what you can do to eliminate some of her stress. In as much as a Wedding is a wonderful time for celebration, weddings are known to be a serious stressor. According to a Brides magazine survey, 96% of Couples consider Wedding planning stressful, with 71% claiming it to be more stressful than finding a job or other major events in life.
And most of all, we recommend you have a lot of patience.
The day of the wedding, make certain you give yourself ample time for setting up. "Be ready to get ready" because there may be a few little things you will be in charge of that your Bride cannot take care of. You may have extra items like wedding favors, Unity Candles, or special mementos that will need to be placed in the Ballroom or Ceremony area. Even though your Bride has possibly taken the reigns all these months prior, she will be tucked away in the Juliet Suite, unaware of what is occurring downstairs. Even today, we have many Brides that go the traditional route so the Groom does not see her the night before. Make sure everything is packed and waiting by the door. This is Louisiana, so don't leave the candles in your vehicle. Make sure you eat! It's going to be along day, regardless of what time the Ceremony commences. . Bring snacks. We've had Grooms that get light-headed and dizzy because it is such a hectic day, they forget to eat.
But most of all, we want you to remember, you chose your beautiful Bride because you know she makes you a better man. Those are the women men choose. The one that makes him his best version. In return, she gets you, a man who is supportive, loving, and kind to her. Realize her emotions may be a little "extra" today. (Yours may be as well.) This is perfectly normal and understandable. A majority of women get married at the Castle because they have been planning this big day since they were little girls pretending to be a princess. And you, are about to make her fairy-tale come true. When the Castle door swings open and your Bride appears, you are not the only one who will have his breath taken away. This is a memorable and extraordinary moment for your Bride as well. It isn't every girl that gets married in a Castle. And it isn't every girl gets to marry you. Seize your moment!

To Our Lovely Brides...
Are you nervous? Excited? Did you think this day would never get here? Or did it arrive too soon? There may be a myriad of emotions coursing through your veins right now. This is perfectly fine and normal for Brides. You are making a decision to spend the rest of your life with the one you love, and for the majority of our Brides, nothing has been more important since she began planning her wedding.
If we have any advice for you, it would be to RELAX! Life is not perfect, and you may experience some hiccups these last few days, or even the day of your Wedding. Take a deep breath, soak it in, and communicate with us. If there is anything we can assist you with, please let us know. Believe it or not, your day is just as special to us as it is to you.
To our "Princess Brides," you are our most special to us because you have been dreaming of this fairy-tale for your lifetime. You are why we do what we do. Wedding Castles are not a dime a dozen and you chose us! Thank you!
What advice can we give you other than to relax and enjoy your moment?
Don't color your hair right before the wedding! Seriously.... Three weeks before your Wedding is probably not the best time to try a new style or color on your hair. Stay in your comfort zone. Experts say if you regularly dye your hair, do this 2 weeks before your wedding. This way it doesn't have time to grow out, but you still have time to fix it should you not have the desired results, and it also gives the brassiness time to wear down.
Finalize your dress alterations if they aren't already. Make final decisions on how you want your makeup, hair style, etc. Whatever size you are.. you are PERFECT! You will be radiant and your Groom will be awestruck. No crash diets three weeks before the wedding! Make sure your dress fits for the body you have now, and take a moment to love yourself as you are! In over 20 years, we have never, not once, seen a Bride who wasn't beautiful.
Lastly, we hope your day is a dream come true! There aren't many Wedding Castles to get married at in the United States. In fact, some may claim to be Castles, but by definition, they aren't. We are tremendously glad you chose us! Should you need anything, please give us a call. We've been at this a long time now and we are here to help.
